Travel Inspiration for 2017

People like to start the New Year with resolutions. It’s an ideal time to set new goals, determine objectives, make plans, start projects, and so on and so forth.

As you already know, travelling is a very important part of my life. I feel this strong desire to travel all year long, seize every opportunity that comes up, and work really hard to make things happen. I decided to make a list of ten destinations that really resonated with me when I visited them.

PARIS, FRANCE: for its romanticism

Paris is hands down my favourite city. It’s just absolutely gorgeous, and full of art everywhere. Living there for two years made me discover the city from a different angle, and I loved every minute of it. I suggest visiting Paris in the Spring for more sunny days and to see the cherry blossoms.

NEW YORK, USA: for its lifestyle

I try to go to New York every year during a long weekend, and to do something different every time I'm there. This city has so much to offer, and you'll definitely feel like you’re in an American movie! I suggest visiting Central Park in the Spring, and watching sunset from Brooklyn.

BERLIN, GERMANY: for its unique nightlife

I really enjoyed my experience in Berlin. The mentality there is very peaceful, and its eclectic mix of people makes the city really fun to visit. I highly recommend testing out Berlin’s nightlife; probably the only place where wearing sweat pants and looking depressed guarantee your entrance in a club.

LAGOS, PORTUGAL: for its majestic cliffs

Lagos is a little pearl that’s located in Algarve, a region in Southern Portugal. You get really good value for what you pay when you visit this place. Its gorgeous cliffs will leave you speechless and its crystal clear water is ideal for all sorts of water activities.

MAUI, HAWAII: for its adventures

There is so much happiness in Maui. Its people are awesome and there’s always something fun to do. Whether it be getting lost in the jungle, hiking a volcano, or learning how to surf, you’ll never get bored!

SAINT PETERSBURG, RUSSIA: for its history

This city is rich in culture and history; with the Hermitage Museum, the Mariinsky Theatre and the many palaces surrounding the city! I suggest travelling there during the "white nights" (in June) when the sun never really sets.

OIA, GREECE: for its breathtaking sunsets

Speaking of sunsets, Oia is THE renowned place for the best ones. The view on the caldera from those white houses is something unique that you will never forget! Make sure you arrive before 3-4pm if you want to get a good spot.

VALENSOLE, FRANCE: for its magic

If you'd like to get lost in a never-ending lavender field, this is the place for you. Just drive around in the Valensole area until you find the best spot and go get lost among the flowers (and bees!).

WADI RUM, JORDAN: for its calmness and immensity

My experience in the desert of Wadi Rum was probably the most special one. Being alone in the middle of the desert is something I’ll remember my whole life. If you’re looking to really disconnect from reality and go for a ride on the sand dunes, you should definitely add that to your bucket list.

BYBLOS, LEBANON: for its charming streets

Byblos is the most ancient continuously inhabited city in the world. I fell in love with this little village instantly as it’s mostly made out of century-old rocks and it’s covered in flowers.

What about you? Where is your favourite place?
