A Few Words About Me

My name is Genevieve and I’m a French Canadian girl who craves for adventure. I grew up near Montréal in a town called Joliette and had the chance to travel a lot starting at a very young age. My mom's family lives in the Magdalen Islands (click here if you have no idea where that is) and my dad's family lives all across France and Belgium. My siblings and I have been lucky enough to visit them every summer, allowing us to spend ample amounts of time in airports, planes and boats, as well as going on spontaneous road trips. Travelling quickly became an integral part of my life, and helped me become the person that I am today.

Professionally speaking, I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Montréal and a Master's degree in Marketing from HEC Montréal Business School. I’ve lived, studied and worked in both Canada and France, but recently moved to Australia to pursue my longtime dream. I’ve been working in Digital Marketing for the past decade and every time I’d get a break I would hop on a plane to discover the world and blog about it. Aside from travelling the world, I’m passionate about art, music, photography and books. I also really enjoy doing yoga and dancing. I’m usually very intrigued by human behaviours and I love being challenged in new environments.

I got my first film camera when I was about 10 years old, and ever since I’ve been taking photos of pretty much everything. For me, it’s a way of fixing things in time, and I enjoy looking at photos years later. It’s crazy how fast we forget details of moments that once were so important. I’ve also always liked writing and learning new languages. As a kid, I’ve had a few personal diaries, and kept saying I wanted to write books. That passion persisted trough the years along with a growing interest for building websites, which I developed throughout my digital marketing career.

With this blog, I aim to inspire people around the globe to go out there and explore!
